1 - La Paz - Taquesi - Kakapi (2790m/9.154ft)
We meet around 6h00 and a car brings us to the Mina San Francisco (4220m/13.845ft) and a small path takes us to where we meet our team of muledrivers and their animals. We’ll have breakfast and then we start our trek by walking up to a mountain pass at (4650m/15.256ft), at the foot of the Taquesi peak. Suddenly we dive into the precipitous valleys of the Yungas. A paved pre-colombian path takes us to the Estancia Taquesi and from here we continue to the small village Kakapi. Camping. Distance: 88km/55mi. Transport: 4h. Trek: 9h. Elevation: +430m/-1860m, +1.411ft/-6.102ft. B/L/D

2 - Kakapi - Yanacachi (2000m/6.562ft)
Pre-colombian ruins and isolated villages now give way to giant ferns, orchids and all kinds of tropical vegetation, which our guide knows at his findertips. Around 13h00 we arrrive at the charming village Yanacachi, situated on a headland at 2000m/6.562ft altitude. After lunch a person from the Yanacachi community takes us on a visit of his coca plantation. The coca that is cultivated in then Yungas is destined for the legal market, meaning the millions of bolivians that chew the leaves every day. Hostel. Trek: 6h. Elevation: -790m, -2.592ft. B/L/D

3 - Yanacachi - Puente Villa (1200m/3.937ft) - La Paz
We continue our trek along the Rio Taquesi until we reach Villa Aspiazu, from where we start a descend to Puente Villa. We have lunch close to the village in a tropical green setting at 1200m/3.937ft of altitude. After lunch our car brings us back to La Paz. Distance: 88km/55mi. Transport: 4h. Trek: 4h. Elevation: -800m, -2.625ft. B/L
